SproutBox is excited to announce the re-opening of applications for the investment cycle. We are seeking talented entrepreneurs interested in turning their idea into a reality. The deadline for applications is Saturday, December 5th, at 11:59pm, so if you think you (or anyone you know) would make a good candidate, it’s time to get started at http://sproutbox.com/apply.

We couldn’t be happier with the selection of our most recent Sprout, Proposable. Proposable Founder James Kappen has relocated from California to Bloomington, and the SproutBox dev team is in full swing on his project. Proposable is a simple way to create, deliver, and analyze your sales proposals online. We have no doubt it’s going to be a huge success. To keep up to date, sign up for the newsletter at http://proposable.com and follow @proposable on twitter.

Our 4th Sprout, Squad, is almost ready to be released to the public. Squad is a web-based collaborative code editor. You’ll be hearing a lot more about that project in the next couple of weeks. If you’d like to be notified of the launch, be sure to follow @squadedit on twitter and keep an eye on http://squadedit.com.

We want to make sure everyone has the chance to apply. That’s where you come in. Please take a moment and let your friends know about SproutBox, especially the ones who want to start a business. Send them a link to this post, or click on the links below if you use twitter or facebook:

Tomorrow, August 15th at 11:59 pm is your last chance to submit an application for SproutBox this round. There’s a lot of excitement about the potential of being selected to be SproutBox’s first external Sprout. Yesterday we had a great write up in TechCrunch about our online billing and subscription solution, CheddarGetter. If you haven’t read it you should definitely check it out: CheddarGetter Wants To Get Your Startup Some Cheddar

There was a blurb in the article about applications closing, but we want to make sure everyone has the chance to apply. That’s where you come in. Please take a moment and let your friends know about SproutBox. Particularly the ones that might be interested in starting a business. Send them an email directing them to http://www.sproutbox.com/apply/ or if you use twitter or facebook click on the links below:

The Herald Times newspaper ran a front page article today about the draw downtown Bloomington has for tech companies. The story highlighted the downtown tech park, technology partnership, B-Line Trail, and the vibrant mix of restaurants and stores downtown. In addition to SproutBox, The HT also talked with a number of our favorite Bloomington tech companies like Information In Place and Envisage and threw in a plug for Bloomington Geek Dinner this Thursday at SproutBox. The timing of the coverage is great with us coming up on our first application deadline in just a week.

The Article (Downtown area a high-tech draw) requires a subscription, but they also shot this embedable ‘video visit’ to SproutBox you should check out even if you aren’t an HT subscriber.

Thanks to Ariel Tung for the article and David Snodgress for the photos and video!
